Digestive system

FIrst of all do you know what the digestive system is? Well here are some facts to let you know how the digestive system works.

What is the digestive system?

The digestive system is a group of organs working together to convert food into energy and basic nutrients to feed the entire body. Food passes through a long tube inside the body known as the alimentary canal or the gastrointestinal tract (GI tract).

How does the digestive system work?

Digestion works by moving food through the GI tract. Digestion begins in the mouth with chewing and ends in the small intestine. As food passes through the GI tract, it mixes with digestive juices, causing large molecules of food to break down into smaller molecules.

Why is the digestive system so important?

Digestion is important for breaking down food into nutrients, which the body uses for energy, growth, and cell repair. Food and drink must be changed into smaller molecules of nutrients before the blood absorbs them and carries them to cells throughout the body.

Valerie adams speech

Most of you may know my name, for use that don’t know my name is Valerie Adams. I am well known for being an olympian from New Zealand. I still train hard as an olympian, this year my goal is to bet my world record, in the field event of shot put.

During the olympics was tremendous because we’re able to train without any distractions. Being away from New Zealand definitely helps because there’s not much Olympic hype around here. Nobody knows who I am, there are no media things happening, I’m just focused on what I need to do, and that is to train. Anyways that enough about me for one day. Well, it was a privilege to tell yous all about my journey in the olympics and how it went. This wouldn’t have happened if your principal ( Mr Hendricks ) invited me to your wonderful school. Once again it was a amazing experience to speak in front of you's all.

My advise to you about becoming an amazing shot putter is to train hard, be able to actually lift the shot put and have the strength. Take your throwers to the state championship this year. Learn Proven, Successful strategies for developing champion shot putters.

Miracle in the sky

Salevasa - Miracle in the sky.

He stood there next to his mother, sheltered under a large black umbrella held by the tall woman. The mother and her son were soaked wet as they dragged themselves across the field.
They knew that something strange is happening. The rumble of thunder had been accompanied by a strange wind, almost a whooshing sound. The boy does not remember any time like this in his whole life.
They stared up at the remarkable view above them and wondered what on earth was happening. To their surprise, they saw a shoal of enormous fish swimming across the cloudy sky. The fishes appeared to be thousands, they were moving at a tremendous speed.
The mother and her son were feeling a bit amazed and worried at the same time. The reason is because they can not explain what and why there were fish in the sky. Furthermore, they were more worried than amazed because they could understand what is happening. Nevertheless, they continued on walking home in the terrible weather.
Hours and minutes later they finally got home. They had a warm shower, got changed, had a nice hot cup of milo before falling asleep while watching TV. Although they were sleeping, they were still thinking about what they have seen and realised it must have been a miracle but they were not sure who else has seen what they saw.

A day at the beach

A day At the beach.

As I walk along the beach, the sun gracefully lifted its head above the clouds, greeting the new day. While the golden sand pulls me in the ocean tickles my feet. The calm wind brushes my face, The palm trees and umbrellas are roofs, hiding people away from the sun. Meanwhile you can hear the waves crashing up against the sand sucking it in.The sunscreen is like a shield against the rays of the sun. The sandals are guards who make sure my feet don't get burned by the toasted sand. The ice cream being sold sings to people who are burnt out by the sun and hungry for something cold.

Writing assessment

As the sun gracefully lifted its head above the clouds, greeting the new day. I thought “ It be a wonderful day to look over everything “ So I went over to the edge of this massive as rock, I grabbed my binoculars and glanced at the breathtaking view.

Suddenly I saw some bad news heading towards my way. It was like I was seeing my cats fighting but Wait it gets worse. Guess what?? It was a group of men travelling with guns and all sorts of weapons like, metal bats, spears, knifes and more. From my point of view I thought it was joke and thought to myself that I was seeing things. So I decided to gently wipe my eyes and the lens of the binoculars and I still saw them.

Furthermore, I tiptoed slowly towards my stuff and headed down the rock. Until I saw them getting closer and closer but lucky I had spotted a cave where I could hide and will never find me. As I continue ahead to the cave I heard a BANG! BANG! In the sky. Then I started to walk faster, it wasn’t to much to go until I reach my destination. After a while I will say about 45 minutes . I couldn’t really see anything so I used my torch. All I saw was spiders , centipedes and a whole lot of cave insects.

Minutes later I walked outside to see if the men were there and I did, they had captured 3 innocent people ready to kill them. So I grabbed out my phone and called for the police secretly. As soon as the police arrived the men went back in there car and drove off so there was a police chase. Sooner or later they would’ve captured them and had escorted the 3 people back home including me.  The sheriff also thank me for calling because those men were the number one suspects. After a long day I was happy I survived and glad that I made the right decision to call the police. If I hadn’t call the police I think I would have been a prisoner by those men.

Evacuation if needed in a emergency.

Have a getaway bag ready for everyone in your family with warm clothes, a bottle of water, snacks, copies of important documents and photo ID. Remember any medications you might need and keep your first aid kit, torch, radio and batteries somewhere you can grab them in a hurry.

Decide where you will go and make sure everyone in your family knows, in case you’re not all together at the same time. Your evacuation place will probably be with friends or family, so make sure they know your plans.

If you live in a tsunami zone, make sure your evacuation place is outside of the zone check with your council for zone maps.

If you have to leave home, take your pets with you. If it’s not safe for you, it’s not safe for them. Make sure your evacuation place will take your pets or have the contact details for kennels, catteries and pet friendly motels. Only if you decide it’s the best decision.
