Solve these problems.  Show your working please.

1. Steven collected 295 yummy stickers.  His aunty gave him 8 more.  How many yummy stickers does Steven have altogether? 295 + 8 = 303

2. Maria planted 8 rows of silverbeet in her vegetable garden.  There were 13 plants in each row.  How many silverbeet plants did Maria planted? 8 x 13 = 104

3. Jennifer bought 24 cupcakes.  One sixth of the cupcakes are chocolate.  How many chocolate cupcakes did Jennifer bought? 24 divided by 6 = 4 x 1 = 4

4. Nancy has $67 in her piggy bank. She gets $29 for her birthday. How much money has Nancy got now? 67+29=96

5. There are 56 cars at the parking lot.  ⅜ of them are red.  How many red cars at the parking lot? 56 divided by 8 = 7 x 3 = 21

6. 1647 lambs had already been born. Another 176 lambs were born. How many lambs were there altogether? 1647+176= 1833

7. You have 87 chairs to put around some tables. 8 chairs fit around each table. How many tables do you need? 87 divided by 8 = 10.8

If you want to play this game then you can click here.Five  was the highest number overall, I couldn’t believe that in all of the equations their was more than 5, so I  couldn't quite understand how it was processed.

This is a game where you can learn your multiplication and division. If you are not quite sure about your time tables and division then you can play this game which is called Maths facts pro lite. It would be helpful to use if you are struggling so I recommend this game for you.

Adapted Mind Maths 11/03/116

For this week in maths we have been doing all different kinds of games like Adapted Mind. It is a game where you can learn of different kinds of math for example (Algebra) if you are struggling with algebra you can click Algebra and then this will show up.

 Then you would have to click one of the munchkins and a equation would appear like this. Once you have answered the equation then you would get good job or monsterific because it obviously has monsters in it. When you have answered all the munchkins then you will  move up a level.  I made it to level 6,  as I progressed it got harder and harder so at the end it was a bit of a challenge. Speed Skills

Today's math, Room 7 learnt all about order of operations. Our whole class played a game called Speed skills to enhance our knowledge. If you wanted to learn more about order of operations you should try playing Speed Skills. It will challenge your sense of speed and will make you strive further. So if you want to improve your grades, I strongly recommend you playing this challenging game.

Maths

This week my group have been working in our math books . Mrs Barry gave us a worksheet to do in maths. On the worksheet we have been learning that problems like 34+ ?  = 51 and 51-34=?  have the same answer. If we needed help we just needed to ask our teacher Mrs Barry. But the main reason is the worksheet was challenging for me but I had asked my buddy Maia for some help. Before we worked on the sheet we needed to understand more about the strategies so we worked together on the interactive whiteboard until we understood, and then we can work independently.

Maths 3 july 2015

For today in maths room 12 have been going over our basic facts tests. But the stage 7 have been on a website that is called www.prototec.co.nz. Also we were working over Stage 7 some of the question were easy because it was multiplication, division, factors, square roots and power of. So next time I would want to try out stage 8.

  

Learning my Place value week 3

In this game I was learning my place value, it was easy because I know my place value. I went up to level 3 and my score was 108. I could have gone up to level 4 but instead of one person defending there were 2 so it got harder and harder. So next time I want to get passed level 3 and get a new high score.

What a view Week 2

What a View!

What a view is a level 3 strategy book that lets you use the most knowledge you can think of. This figure it out book taught me how to use a lot more than one strategy for one question.The next thing that I would like to learn is to use square roots in maths equations.

I have been learning many more examples for this term, for advanced learning, I would like to learn about coordinates.

figure it out

For maths I had a figure it out book and we had to go on page 22. So we had to do high powered thinking and it was about a building that had 26 offices and we had to count how many windows there were.So what I did was this. 26x10= 260 so I +160 with the 260 to get 420 and that was my answer. Next time I would like to learn about human pyramids because it seems fun. But I found it easy because I knew that my 10 times tables and knew you just had to put a zero at the end.

Exponents

In this game I was learning what exponents are and on my first go I got three thousand points. I thought that the evaluating exponents and equations with exponents were easy but the exponents with fractional bases is difficult because I did not understand. Next I would like to learn more about exponents with fractional bases.

E asttle Nov 2014

On the 30th of October we had to do a mathletics E asttle test. I When I saw my result I was disappointed because I thought that I would improve but obviously I didn’t.  So next time I hope to improve more than now.
